Who We Are
The Water Wizard’s is DC’s resident aquatics program using DC Public pools and staff to provide pool-based fitness opportunities for seniors (ages 50 and up) and adult United States Masters Swimmers (over 18) of all levels — from water-aerobics, to learn-to-swim, to swimming as exercise, to competitors at the highest levels; including a team of men and women who compete at the national level for the District. The Water Wizards carries out a vibrant development plan geared to support and enhance productive aquatic and educational programs to build a healthy community across all age levels. The Water Wizards’ advocacy role supports aquatics programs throughout the District for all age levels, and emphasizes the proper maintenance and full utilization of the public’s pools.

Indoor 50 meter by 25 yard pool. Configured for 17 25-yard swimming lanes in two sections separated by a bulk head, and a five-lane wide shallow section separated from the lap swim lanes by a second bulk head. Parking is available in the DPR parking lot behind the pool. Parking entrance is on 3rd Street NW. Nearest Metro station is Red Line Takoma Station, 4 blocks from the pool.

Indoor 25 yard by 20 yard pool. During Fall, Winter, and Spring, the pool is configured for five 25-yard lanes and three lanes reserved for recreational activities and group classes. During Summer, the pool is configured for six 20-yard lanes and the shallow end reserved for recreational activities and group classes. Street parking is available. (Street sweeping restrictions limit parking on Thursday mornings.) Nearest Metro station is Blue, Orange, and Silver Lines Eastern Market Station at 7th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue SE.

Outdoor 50 yard, 8-lane pool. Pool is open between the Memorial Day and Labor Day holidays. Parking is available in the DPR parking lot between the tennis courts and the pool. Parking entrance is on 9th Street NW.

Indoor pool located in Brookland offers a six lane 25-yard pool located within the Turkey Thicket Recreation Center. Access to the parking lot is on Michigan Avenue. Nearest Metro station is the Red Line Brookland-CUA station, 4 blocks from the pool.

Indoor 50-meters by 25-yard pool and 4-lane 20-yard leisure pool located in Tenley Town. Competition pool is configured short course on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays and long course on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Nearest Metro station is Red Line Tenley Town-AU station, 1 block from the pool. Only street parking is available (metered and 2-hour residential zone restriction).
